Funding Application to Irish Aid 2006 PDF Print E-mail

Following the Tsunami disaster in December 2004, and the initiation of a successful fundraising campaign in South Dublin County Council (SDCC), (the proceeds of which were allocated equally between the Tsunami Relief and African charities), the idea of a possible longer term involvement by the Council in a development partnership with a local authority in Africa was considered. With the co-operation, support and advice of Deputy Conor Lenihan, (Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs for Development Co-operation & Human Rights), it was decided to focus on Ethiopia.
